Nanette Cook
Fitness Instructor
I am a newly retired physical education teacher after having taught for the last 39 years. I went to LSU for my undergrad degree and I received my Masters Degree in Education from ULL. I have over 40 year experience teaching group exercise classes, my first being at Red Lerilles. I was a "charter" member of the first Fitness Center staff at Lourdes when they opened in the orphanage building in 1984. I taught exercise classes, weight management classes, and ran a kids program in the summer. After completing my Masters Program, I taught health and fitness classes at ULL in the Kinesiology Department. I have many earned many certifications in group exercise, personal training, Pilates and nutrition coaching from IDEA (International Fitness Professional Association), ACE (American Council on Exercise), AFFA (Athletics and Fitness Association of America), and The Cooper Institute in Dallas. My hobbies include running, biking, walking with friends, cooking, pickleball, Netflix binging and my favorite one is playing with my grandchildren. If I could do all of these favorite things from the beach I would be smiling all the time!
